Head of Christ belonging to a sculptural group of an early medieval Pieta. The plasticity and the pathos of the original piece attracted my attention until I decided to make an honest approach through drawing to this fascinating work . The imagery of the severed head seems to me to connect, in addition, with that of John the Baptist and other pagan myths older than Orpheus. More weighty arguments to try an exploration of this exciting topic.
