Artist's Description

Inspired by some pieces from Sir Henry Dryden and John Ruskin, this drawing, made with pencil and charcoal over printing paper, and highly damaged (or disintegrated) in the process, is a depiction of the remains of the slab of an unknow medieval warrior. The main theme of the picture, above his relation with archaeological sketches, is reminiscent of the memento mori traditional imaginery, but also suggest a miles christianus embem and a symbol of faith in Resurrection from the tomb as a fighter.
